By order of President Rohani and presence of Minister of Energy, Aghkand 50 MW wind farm inaugurated on 27November 2019 in Miyaneh city of East Azarbaijan province.

The wind farm, with generation capacity of more than 175000 MWH per year in Aghkand village of East Azarbijan, can supply required electricity of 104000 household.

This project saves 49 million cubic meters of natural gas fuel consumption and 38000 cubic meters of water. Moreover, it prevents the release of 119200 tones of environmental pollutants.

GNEC has been responsible for supervision services in the project since 2016.
